Yuhki Kurihara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Toho Gakuen School of Music,
where she studied piano with Nobuhito Nakai and ensemble performance with Hisano Ishioka, Kazuoki Fujii, and Etsuko Tazaki.
Grounded in the structural discipline and sensibility cultivated within the classical tradition, she began her career as a composer in 2018.
Her work spans music for anime, advertising, and film, contributing to domestic and international projects including The Asahi Shimbun, TOYOTA USA, Georgia Coffee, and Hermès.
Since 2019, she has also worked as an assistant to Kensuke Ushio, participating in music production for anime and film while developing her own solo practice.
Her work explores the process through which physically generated sounds transform into music—working between structure and intuition to examine the intersection of sound and perception.
She also holds a traditional Kouta (classical Japanese song) title, reflecting her interest in the resonances between different musical systems and forms of sensibility.
